The story of CBS
Chaman Bhartiya School was founded in 1999 by a small group of Bengaluru educators who believed schools should feel less like factories and more like workshops — places where children build, question and create.
What began as a single Pre-KG section with 28 students has grown into a 6-acre campus of 1,800+ learners across Pre-KG to Class 12, recognised as one of Bengaluru's leading ICSE schools.
Today, CBS combines a rigorous academic foundation with a future-ready stack of STEM labs, design studios, performing arts and sports — anchored by the values that have always defined the school: curiosity, kindness and courage.
To nurture confident, compassionate and capable young people who are ready to shape the future — not just adapt to it.
A school where every child discovers what they love, masters what they choose, and contributes to the world they share.
Our values
We celebrate the question more than the answer. Every classroom begins with a wonder.
How we treat each other matters as much as what we know.
We try, we fail, we try again — and we cheer for those who do.
Anything worth doing is worth doing beautifully. We sweat the details.
Parents, teachers and students grow together. CBS is a circle, not a hierarchy.
We leave every space — and every person — a little better than we found them.
Milestones
Opened with 28 Pre-KG students in a leased Bengaluru bungalow.
Received ICSE affiliation and moved to the current 6-acre campus.
Inaugural senior secondary batch achieved a 100% pass rate.
Opened a dedicated 4,000 sq.ft. robotics, electronics and design lab.
Adopted the Drishti Innovations learning OS for K–10 STEM and life skills.
"At CBS, we believe a great school is one where children look forward to Monday morning. We hold our academics to the highest standards, but we hold our culture to an even higher one — because skills change, but character compounds. Welcome to our family."
